Privacy notice

Short version: the checker and letters run on your device and we never see what you type into them. We keep payment confirmations from Stripe and reports you choose to send, and nothing else about you.

The checker and letters

Everything you enter into the checker and letter builder, including your name, address, registration and charge details, is processed in your browser. It is not sent to us. A draft is kept in your browser's session storage so you don't lose it when you go to pay, and is deleted when you close the tab. If you buy a letter, your browser keeps a record that you've paid for 30 days so you can come back to it; you can clear it by clearing site data.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see your card details. When you return from Stripe, our server checks with Stripe that the payment went through; it doesn't store anything from that check. Stripe sends us a receipt record (name, email, amount), which we keep for 6 years for tax purposes. Lawful basis: contract and legal obligation. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Reports you send us

If you use the report form, we receive what you type, any photo, and your email if you give it. We use it only to check and update car park facts, and delete it within 90 days. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in keeping the site accurate.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites, and count a few anonymous events (such as "checker used" and "letter bought") with no personal data attached. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so we don't show a cookie banner.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
